Restaurants/Grocery and SuppliesThe small fishing village of Platanitos is a five minute walk after crossing the estuary mouth by canoe. The total trip from the villas is 15 minutes by canoe/on foot, or 20 minutes by car as you have to drive around the estuary. We typically have one of our employees guide guests over the first time in the canoe, or each time if requested. The restaurants in Platanitos are "rustic", all serve seafood, and close at dark. The towns of Zacualpan and Las Varas, 20 and 25 minutes away, have a plethora of small eating places, grocery, hardware, with a few family restaurants in each town and a couple of seafood places in Las Varas. Rincon de Guayabitos and San Blas (each about 45 minutes in opposite directions) have a larger variety of restaurants. |
