Beach Walkers

Turtle Beach lies at the north end of 11 miles of secluded beach near the fishing village of Platanitos. The objective of the developers is to shape the area into one of the finest nature-aware residential communities on the Pacific coast of Mexico, designed in harmony with its extraordinary beach and estuary setting.

Our beach is wonderful, and has no rocks. At low tide it is safe enough for msall children (supervised by adults of course). The undertow is normally minimal. The beach is ecologically protected as one of the primary nesting habitats in the Americas for several species of sea turtles. To the back of the developable area are approximately 1,100 acres of saltwater tidal estuary used for canoeing, kayaking, bird watching, and fishing. The estuary is home to many species of waterfowl and other animals.

The first phase of 32 homes, now under construction, includes a fresh-water swimming pool, its own water source, underground utilities, and satellite television. The Property Owners' Association will care for the exterior upkeep of all homes, and for gardening of the common areas. Come see our project today!

Each beautifully decorated Villa features a fully-equipped kitchen, maid service, Satellite TV, VCR, & stereo, and optionally your own cook.

Restaurants/Grocery and Supplies

The small fishing village of Platanitos is a five minute walk after crossing the estuary mouth by canoe. The total trip from the villas is 15 minutes by canoe/on foot, or 20 minutes by car as you have to drive around the estuary.

We typically have one of our employees guide guests over the first time in the canoe, or each time if requested. The restaurants in Platanitos are "rustic", all serve seafood, and close at dark. The towns of Zacualpan and Las Varas, 20 and 25 minutes away, have a plethora of small eating places, grocery, hardware, with a few family restaurants in each town and a couple of seafood places in Las Varas. Rincon de Guayabitos and San Blas (each about 45 minutes in opposite directions) have a larger variety of restaurants.
